Introducing Ethical Wills into Client Conversations
In their busy lives, your office may be the only place where clients have the opportunity to thoughtfully consider their “legacy.” In designing and implementing their best course, you are in a unique position to bring to help bring to reality their own visions for positive impact, a vision that imbues the every day, yet reaches towards eternity.
In this web class you will learn about using the concept of the ethical will to invite conversation about personal history, values and vision, and inspire the client to meaningful action. In this 90 minute presentation/conversation, you will:
- Learn all about ethical wills – their history, length, content, legal status, etc.
- Consider how to introduce the concept into client conversations
- Understand the circumstances in which you should strongly recommend their creation
- Review strategies for countering the all-too-human obstacles in creating them
- Learn about two other non-binding personal legacy documents: letters of wishes to trustees and expressions of donor intent
- Learn about Personal Legacy Advisors’ guidebooks and services
- Have the chance to ask questions and if time allows, to discuss experiences and ideas with other participants
- Receive a copy of the recording and accompanying Power Point
